INSIDE MOOTApp in development
Actual Moot app: a rule about merchant firm offers, a practice question, and answer choices.
Moot, your fox study companion
Okay, but why? That’s the part we work through.

FOR THE PART AFTER THE READING

Make sense of
what you’ve read.

Understand the rule.

Start with a short explanation of the concept and the conditions that matter.

Make a decision.

Apply the rule to a concrete problem. Pick an answer, then work through your reasoning.

See why it works.

Use the feedback to connect the facts to the rule, then try a new situation.

A LITTLE PRACTICE, RIGHT HERE

Knowing the words
is the start.

Try this short Contracts problem. Read the rule, make your choice, and see the explanation.

CONTRACTS / CONSIDERATIONYour turn
THE RULE

Giving up a lawful freedom at the promisor’s request can supply consideration. A gift promise without an exchange does not.

A promise to pay.

Alex promises Sam $500 if Sam gives up video games for 30 days. Sam has a legal right to play, agrees, and completes the 30 days. Alex receives no financial benefit.

Does Sam’s forbearance supply consideration?

About this example

An original study hypothetical focused only on consideration. Other grounds of enforcement are outside this problem. See consideration and requested forbearance. This website sample is separate from the app.

HE’S NEW HERE TOO.

Moot’s first semester.

The reading. The cold calls.
The very optimistic highlighting.

The first cold call

He did the reading. Allegedly.

One page of notes

The instructions were very specific.

Not on the exam

A brief moment of peace.

The important parts

A very yellow textbook.
